A MAYOR'S ACTION UPHELD.

Martin counsel - for the Municipal Association, tnat tlie Mavor's action in "censuring" a councillor" was quite legal, and a record of it could not be expunged from the mimitesi also that a subsequent meeting of councillors after the Mayor had declared the meeting closed and left the chair was not legal, and a resolution passed protesting a»ninst the Mayor's action could not be properly inserted in the minutes. The opinion confirms the Mayor's action nn all points. The council s omi solicitors had been asked, for an opinion also, and this differed m toto from Mr. Martin's, but the latter's speciality levng. municipal law, his decision -was accepted,
