THE KING'S ADVICE

Ono of tho leading imglish papers, commenkng on the cxhioition of tho kinemutograph film, "Tho Battle of tho AncrK" stated:-"ihero is no programme in Louuon which gives so complete and vivid a description of the war." King George, alter seeing tlio picture privately at Windsor, said: "The public should seo theso pictures that they may have somo idea ol what tho Army is doing and what war means.

Iho marvel of kineruatography was never moro atop y iHustrated than by tho results attained during the present, campaign by tho official kiuematographcrs -who form part of tho French Army, and who spring out of tho trenches with a camoi-u, in their hands instead, of a bomb and a bayonot. tho picture, "Tho Battle of tho AJicre, which wae exhibited privately to tho members of the Ministry and leading military officers a- few days ago, it was seen that tho operators, to secure tho pictures of men actually springing out of their trenches and moving over No Man's Land amidst bursting shrapnel, must of necessity themselves have been exposed to equal danger with tho men. Already two of tho operators attached to that arm of the servico have been kiUed while engaged in their work.

The exhibition of theso films has been arranged by the Government in order that our people should have forced homo upon them tho truth about tho conditions under which our men aro fighting, and tho difficulties and hardships that they are enduring'day by day in mud, cold, hunger, and privation, as well as tho daily danger of death and suffering by shot and shell. Tho entire net proceeds arising from tho oxhibitiou of these films, which will open in tho Town Hall on Monday next at 8 p.m., are to go directly for the benefit of our fighting men in camp, trench, aud hospital.
