Tho marriage has token place in England of Mi:=s Myrtle Harris, elder daughter o[ Captain Harris, of Lyltelton, to Commander B. AT. Porter, 8.N.E., lato of H.M.S. Barham. Miss Harris left for England last January. News was received in Jfosterton'recently of the death at Adelaide of Mrs. J. E. Bond, who was for soiuo years a well-known and much-respected resident of Afasterton. Mrs. Bond had been, in bad health for somo time. At tho Upper Hutt to-piorrow the musical evening and dance, in aid of the Upper Hutt Orphanage, will take place. I'or the concert portion, tho committee have secured tho services, all kindly given gratis, of some well-known performers. For the dance portion satisfactory arrangements have been completed; the hall is being specially prepared, and the music has received enreful consideration, whilst through tho kindness of Messrs.
