MIDNIGHT BURGLARY
AN All REST MADE. A. light burning at lnidnightjn the ' shop of the Stewart Timber, Glass, and Hardware Co., Ltd., Courtenay Place, seemed unusual to John Sheedy, tho" ' nightwatchman, last night, so ho made ' investigations, with the result that a half-caste Maori was arrested and will bo charged with burglary. The shop is next to a timber yard, and it is stated that a small window at the side of the shop was broken and an entrance gained in that way.' The nightwatchman finding that an intruder was on the premises informed the police, and Sergeant Willcocks and two constables went and caught tho alleged thief in tlw middle o£ his work. The building had been thoroughly ransacked, but nothing of any great value was found on the man arrested. In his possession was a number of keys.
