New 3 has been received by Mr. G. C. Patereon, Chief Post Office, Wellington, of the death of his brother, Pte. A. C. Paterson, of the ArKylo and Sutherland Highlanders, who was killed in action on April 23. Deceased was 19 years of ago, and had seen 12 months' active service. This makes the second brother of Mr. Patorson's killed in action, the first, Pte. .1. C. Paterson, a member of the Gordon Highlanders, age 17, being killed on August 8, 1915.

The many friends of Mr. E. B. Davis, tailor, will regret to leant of his death, which took place at his residence, 42 Crescent Road, Boseneath, on Sunday. The late Mr. Davis arrived in Wellington from Melbourne about nineteen years ago, Tinder engagement to Messrs. Kirkcaldie and Stains. A few years later he commenced business on hie own account in Lembton Quay. Mr. Davis was a. member of the New Zealand Club from its inception, and one of the club's vicepresidents, and would have been president for the ensuing year. The Sunday School Union also claimed him as one of its active workers. He was president and vice-president successively, and during the last fivo years has been visitor on behalf of the union. Hβ was also a member and officer of the Church of Christ, Vivian Street. Mr. Davis leaves a widow and two eons.

Mr. Thomaa Wilson has resigned the position of honorary assistant to the secretary of the War. Belief Association. Iα referring to 'the resignation, at yesterday's meeting of the executive, Mr. John Hntcheson stated that it should be made clear that Mr. Wilson had resigned only to accept an honorary position under the Soldiers' Financial Assistance Board, and that by so doing he had jumped out of the fryingpan into the fire, for he was now -working sixteen hours a day on MX Jays of the week. On the motion of the- chairman, a vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Wilson for the work lie had 'done for the association in an honorary capacity.
