(Continued from pnge 4.) Health of Women and Children, The monthly meeting of the ltoyal .New Zealand Society for tlie Health of Women and Children was held on Thursday. The meeting opened with hearty congratulations beiug passed to Dr. Truby King for the honour conferred upon him by His Alnjesty, and also congratulations to Lady Stout on the award of the- D.S.O. to her son, Major T. D. Af. Stout. The nurse's report was very satisfactory, as also was that of the Hutt and Pctouo Branch. Miss Barnett distributed 206 garments locally, the result of sewing bees held at Mrs. J. Kirkcaldic's and her own home, and acknowledged with thanks donations to Material Fund amounting to £o Is. It was agreed to form a League of Helpers who would give assistance in the homes of some of the overworked mothers by minding children for . an hour or two, as is done very satis--9 faotorily in Dunedin. The secretary would be glad of -the names of any willing to undertake such work.
