Tho Government Statistician (Mr. Maicolm Eraser) states that since tho publication of the Gazette evidence has been produced to him that Lemome JamesPilkington, Defence Department employee, Shmoa, and Alfred Oliver .Ronaids, of ,4 Pirio Street, Wellington, who were drawn in the eighth ballot, liad previously volunteered for service, ana had been rejected.. Also that David Roberts storeman, Wadestown, had left Ixevr Zealand with the Twentieth Reinforcements, having attested under the nam© of T.ewis David Roberts. Mrs. S. P. Curtis, Khandallah, WTites: "In the list of the baTJ.pt published on Thursday is the name of my son, P. EA. Curtis. I should like in explam th.it Trooper Curtis > volunteered threo times, was accepted at the beginning of iMv ruary, and had been in camp for two months."
