Frostick, National Efficiency Commissioner for Canterbury, states that the Efficiency Board has prepared a. list of articles classed • as luxuries which can be dispensed with, and the total annual value of which exceeds three-quarters of a million sterling. It. is considered that a lino should be. drawn between necessity and extravagance. Such a course would cause extra work in tho Customs Department, but this would he infinitesimal compared with the results.
