DEATH OF AN UNKNOWN MAN.
At the Magistrate's Court en Saturday morning, the adjourned inquest touching the death of an unknown man, who was knocked down by a traniear oil Monday evening last, and died ' v i!) lowing morning in ithe Hospital, was hela by Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M. Senior Sergeant Emerson said be had no further evidence to produce. He was unablo to find the soldier who siw tho accident, and helped to carry the li'iurod man into the Central Hotel. He lf-ail the soldier's statement to the polico, onu mentioned that tho soldier was under the influence of liquor, and unable to irako a clear statement. Tho body had r.ot Leen identified, aud the police were unable to get anyone to identify it. ■' ( Tho Coroner returned a verdict of QOatn from injuries received from being knocked over bv a trnmoar, ant- added that no blame rested on tho motorman, who was driving "his car with care, ord hud taken all ncc©s>aT>^precaulions.
