THREEPENNY TRAM-FARES Sir,—lsn't it about tiino there was a let-up on the gross exploitation of tho public -whicli has set iu since tlic war started? Tt is bad enough to see Iho prices of foodstuffs and clothing Roinj; lip, but now we have tho City Council deliberately increasing the minimum faro for Sunday trams. Why run trams? For tho public convenience, of course. Then why charge three times i ho usual amount for a singlu-section ride? To stop tho public from enjoying 'tho convenience, of trams? The thing is absurd and unfair, and il's about time tho citizens demanded justice from the men they put in. the council. Thero ai'Q enough high prices about now without tho council charging war prices for rides in the trams we own.—l am, etc., LA3IE.
