ANNUAL MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Woodville, Juno 1. Tho annual meeting of tho Pahiatua Lic'ensiui; Committeo w«s held at tho CourtGouse to-day. Mr. W. Kerr, S.M., presided, the. other members present being Messrs. E. Harding, J. Harris, G. Goldfinch J. Wcstlake, and J. Wilson. Renewals were granted as follows:— Woodvilln: Masonic, Club, Commercial, and Contra! hotels. Pahiatua: Commercial, Club, and Rutland hotels. F. Jones, lato licensee of the Post Office Hotel, had his application adjourned until July 11. Tho Makuri Hotel application was granted; also that of tho Royal Oak Hotel, Weber. The Health Officer is to Bubmit a report as to tho condition of tho building of the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel, Porangckhau, tho application being adjourned till July, aad ■improvements to be effected in tho meantime. Thomaj Gardner, Wimbledon Hotel: F. Bassett, Wanstead, and F. Napman, Mangatainoka, had their applications granted. A renewal of license was granted to tho W.F.C. Regarding tho application of H. A. Tucker, Post Office Hotel, AVoodville, considerable evidence was heard as to tho condition of the building, and the case adjourned until July 11. The Magistrate, in most complimentary remarks regarding Constable Tanner, who is leaving tho district, said ho had good knowledge of police business, particularly licensing, and oppressed genuine, regret at his departure. He wished him every success in tho future.
