FRENCH CLUB
Tho weekly meeting of the French Club was held on Wednesday evening;, when thcro was ;i veiy fair attendance of members and friends. The chair was occupied by Mr. C. J. Cooke, ivho referred to tho absonco of the presWenl; (Captain Barclay), which, he said, was due to the recent death of one of his sons. 110 proposed a voto of sympathy with Captain. Barclay, which was passed in silenco, the members all standing. The proceedings were begun with a piano solo, played by Miss M.icleay. Mrs. A. If. Myers read -an interesting paper on "A Journey in » J[otor-car from London to Berlin, and Back by Way of Paris." A brief discussion followed, in which Mrs. Bendall, Mr. AYhetton, Mr. Adamson, and others took pnyt. "The Marseillaise" was sung at the close of tho evening.
