POST-WAR CABINET
NEWSPAPERS RECOMMEND EARLY FORMATION BIG TASKS AHEAD .'.. ■ Utec June 1, 12.55. a.m.) London, May 31, Newspapers recommend Air. Lloyd, George to consider the formation of a post-war Cabinet. It is considered probable he would retain therein of the War Cabinet the Foreign and Colonial Ministers. He should immediately appoint a Minister, of Reconstruction, presiding over a Reconstruction Board, on which should bo representatives of the Dominions, and tho Departments of Labour, Finance, Agriculture, Commerce, Food, Shipping, Education, and Local Government, arid would report frcauently. A Director of Demobilisation ouirlit immediately to be appointed. Such a system, if promptly established, would prevent dark days like .those which followed Waterloo, when only 300,00(1 soldiers had to find civil employment, whereas now we must deal with mil- 5 lions from everv part of the Empire. Trade unionism having improved, the workers' outlook, they will not tolerate a lower standard of living—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
