PIRATE CAMPAIGN COLLAPSING
HUNS DISCOURAGED BY NEW BRITISH MEASURES RUMOURED ABANDONMENT THIS YEAR (Kcc. May .31, 5.55 p.m.) Rome, May 30. Advices from Berne state that it is rumoured in Germany that the submarine campaign will not be continued beyond the summer. The heavy losses under the Entente's new measures have caused great discouragement to the Germans, who are beginning to realise that their high hopes regarding the campaign are doomed to failure.—Keuler.
