Exporters secured a fair proportion at per lb. before the salo started, this helping to steady prices. Competition by butchers was not keen, and prices dropped from last week's rates. Best bullocks, .£l7 to £1S 10s.; medium, .£ls 10s. to -CIG 10s.; light, £12 10s. to £15; best cows, £15 55.; medium, £12 to £13 10s.; others, £9 upwards.; Sheep: 1700 penned. 'J'ho quality was poor, very few coming by rail. ' Sales opened at an advnnco of *2s. 6d. to 35., but values receded to last week's level. Extra prime wethers, <f3s. to 545.; best, 4fls. to 415.; medium, 355. to 395.; light and unfinished, 30s. upwards; best owes, 40s. fid.; medium, 335. to 365.; light and unfinished, 28s. 6d. upwards. Lambs: 650 penned. All exporters wero operating at late rates, and there was good competition for best. Ono extra prime mado 035., and another 605.; best, 345. 9d.: medium, 20s. to 28s.
