Sir,—Does Government spoon-fc-ediiigf cause deterioration in a nation or tod?!, of men? And, if so, is there not at svnvotora in the foolish proposals of the r deputation of State employees to the \eting-Prime Minister for the Government to take over all farms to reduce the cost of living? Are these servants not aware that their salaries, with tne extra 10 per cent, war tonus, come out of the fanners' pockets indirectly, who in most cases have to he industrious ana work more than -»p:Ut hours a day to make a success? Would it not bo a. more reasonable proposal for the government to place partly crippled soldiers in some of the Government offices and .■ assist some.of these office workers on to the land? It would serve > two. good pnr-nosc-'bv giving the soldier who Jias made some sacriEce for bis country an easy position for the rest of his life, pml, also tend to broaden the State employees] views.-I am, etc.,
