SURPRISE BAG DAY
4 The sum of money raised as a result of the "Surprise Hag Day," held recently, was very creditable to the ladies who worked so hard for its success. To-mor-row the second "Surprise Bag Day" will bo held, and 3 benefiting by the success of the first day a larger number of baes lias been made, and it is stated the "surprises" will have more varioty. There are several bis attractions, a, section of land (given by the Conlin Estate Coy.), a gas-cooker (given by the Gas Coy.), travelling rugs, cameras, hot-point irons, boxes of tea. not water bottles, electroplated ware, Iwnk notes, and gold and silver. All of the bass will contain a useful article and will, the committee states, be worth the. shilling, the cost of a bag. The proceeds are to be niven to the Sick and Wouuded Soldiers' Fund.
