AGITATORS AND "GO-SLOW" PESTS
AUSTRALIAN LABOUR MARKET DISORGANISED. Sydney, May 30. Speaking at the annual meeting of the Associated Chambers of Manufacturers, the president said that owing to a certain class of agitator taking advantage of the Commonwealth being at war; the labour market had been practically in a state of chaos for a whole year. Emplovers had been so harassed that a number" had gone out of business. The existiii" state of affairs spelt insolvency, and probably the total cessation of industry. As a result of the agitation and the "goslow" policy capitalists were trying to withdraw their money from manufacturing concerns, and unemployment was increasing. If it were not for the equipment of tho soldiers the number of unemployed would be appalling.—Press Assn.'
