LAWN TENNIS
MEETING OF N.Z: COUNCIL. Tho quarterly meeting of tho council of the .New Zealand Lawn Tenuis Association was held last evening. Mr. H. E. Henderson presided in the absence of Mr. If. M. Gore, the president. There were eight delegates present. The quarterly repqrt of tho Management committee slated that no mooting of tho committee had been held sinco the last quarterly meeting on February 28. Tho only matter of interest that had occurred sinco then was tho receipt of .6100 from' the Australasian Lawn Tenuis Association, being tho New Zealand Association's share of .£7OO distributed amongst affiliated associations. The cash, statement showed that from February 23 to May 2, 1917, tho Bum of ifilll 17s. 8(1., less 10s, exchange on cheque from Australia, had bocn received. The statement also showed that ,£SOO was on fixed deposit, ,£lll 7s. Bd. on current account in tho Bank of Now Zealand, and in tho Savings Bank .00 lis. Id. on general account, and .£75 17s. Od. Wilding Memorial Fund. It was decided, on tho motion of tho chairman, to adopt Avre's ball for tho 1 1917 New Zealand championship mooting if such bo held.
