THE AGE LIMIT
NO INTENTION OF REDIjCING IT. It has been suggested lately that there was a possibility of the New Zealand. Government adopting the British military age limit of 11 years. 'Ihe repeat was brought under tl>£ notice of Sir James Allen yesterday. "No," said the Minister, in reply to the inquiry, "I don't think, there is the slightest chance of our adopting the age limit of « years. There are a fair number of men of 45 years of age -who are thoroughly fit to serve, and J think, we should so on sending them. As J have said already, we intend not to send away men of 41 and 45 years of age unless'they are specially fit. But I do not. think we shall alter the age limit. We =hall merely stiffen up the medical examination for men of 43, 41, and 45 years of- age."
