UNSETTLED WEATHER
Unsettled weather, with floods in Westland and Southland, has been general throughout the country. In .Wellington the-weather held out till early on Sunday afternoon, when the rain came on in "earnest. Yesterday was cold and wet, heavy driving showers alternating with brief dry spells. With the wind in-tho south the barometer has rise'," except in the far north, where it is Teported to be still below normal. Ticsent indications, states the official forecast by the Meteorological' Office, are tor strong southerly to south-easterly winds generally, strengthening to gales, witli a risins barometer everywhere. Cold anil snually weather is to bo looked for rain probable, and snow on the higher levels.
