SWIMMING
On Saturday evening a diving competition was held at tho Boys' Institute Baths, somo excellent diving being witnessed. Tho result -jvas:—S. Dempster, 21 points. 1; A. Ifoss, 20 points, 2; K. fJibson, 19 points, 3. Also competed: A. Tarrant, Claridge. A. Thomson, AV. M'Gill, IT. Greenfield. .T. Cunninclinin, IT. Franall, Claridgo, jun., and fieid. Tho "ilorning Post," of February 18, has tho following paragraph:—Tho ongasement is announced, and tho marriugo will shortly take place, of William S. St. John Bealo, lieutenant, Norfolk Ecglmont, only son of Major AV. St. J. Bealc, and Nora, eldest daughter of Llowllyn Edward Griffiths, of Great Abshot House, Titchfield. Lieut. Bealo is a brother of Mrs. M. Wells, of Cambridffa (N.Z.). Mrs. W. Rawson is tho guest of Mrs. Blundell, New Plymouth. Mts. E. J. Leydon, of Palnierston ( North, who i.i leaving shortly for Masterton, was entertained by tho members of St. Patrick's choir on Saturday, and presented with a silver photograph frame as a token of their regard.
