RETURNED SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATIONS

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, May 23. Delegates from the Returned Soldiers' Associations of the various centres of the Dominion met in conference to-day. Prior to the opening of conference the Mayor and representative citizens accorded the delegates a welcome. : ' The annual roport stated that a strong foundation was being laid for development. The balance-sheet showed a credit of .£144 19s. Id. The Anznc sketches tour had yielded a profit of 3s. sd. Local associations had beon formed in nearly every centre. It was decided that tho associations as a whole should take up tho question of enemy aljiens being allowed to follow private occupations, while British subjects were being sent to the front and wore liable to be called up for national service in New Zealand in a civil capacity.
