BRITISH GOODS
AN ASSOCIATION OP AGENTS. . • '
At a meeting held in 'Wellington, on • Wednesday, under the chairmanship of ' Mr. James Macintosh, an organisation of' agents of British manufacturers was' formed, with the 1 title, "The New Zealand Association of British Manufacturers and Agents." The meeting wa.i largely attended by some of the most; representative agents in the Wellington district. The gentlemen present were unanimous in the opinion that tho association -would be of very great talue, not merely to the agents themselves, but as a means of developing British trade with New Zealand.
A preliminary committee was appointed, by the meeting to draw up the articles and rules of the new association, and this committee will report to a subsequent general meeting of agente. The organisation, it is hoped, will be eventually the Wellington section of association, with kindred sections in the other centres of New Zealand.' It is intended that the association, shall meet and discuss any questions that may arise affecting British trade with Wew Zealand, with a view to such concerted action as may eeem desirable. It was mentioned at the meeting that His Majesty's Trade Commissioner (lir. K. W. Dalton) was prepared to give the, association such help as he properly could, and the agents wer« agreed that the new body should keep in. close touch, with Mr. Dalton when its operations had begun. .
