Messrs. Dalgcty nnd Company, Ltd., report having held their weekly sale at Levin on Tuesday, when they offered a, pood yarding of sheep and cattle- to a largo attendance. In spite of the general slackness at present prevailing, most of tho entry changed hands at most satisfactory prices. They quote :-Fat . wethers and owes, 345.; fat ewes, to 335. 6d.; forward ewes, 255. to 275. 6d. : shorn lambs, to 14s. 7d.; woolly lambs, 15s. 7d.; cull ewes, 10s. Bd.; fat cows, £9 155., £11 55., £12, £12 10s.. to £15 17s. 6d.j a lino of 26 fat cows sold on account of tho Drake Estate areraged £13 10s.; forward cows, £7 7s. to £S 10s.; store cows, £5 2s. 6d. to £6 10s.; cows with calves to £8 155.; vealcrs, to £5 is. td.; twenty-month steers, £8 10s.; wcaner steers, £3 10s. Messrs. Dalgcty and 00., Ltd., report having- hold a 'successful clearing salo of dairy stock .on Monday on account of Mr. Taylor, Happy Valley, an entire clearance being, effected. Oows in milk and close to profit sold wcTT, inferior and backward cows fctchiiiß small prices. They quoto:— Cows in milk, to £10 10s.; cows on drop, to £10 155.; springing .heifers, to £11: dry cows, to £8; bulls, to £9 10s.; calves, to £3 6s. Anything showing f|uflli.t.y and condition was in demand, and prices were rather better than those ruling last week.
