IS IT WORTH WHILE?
Sir,—Let me relate an incident whiclr occurred at the Wellington citizens' gift packing for our soldiers and'sailors. Two ladies came to join the throng of busy workers, and they packed parcels for a morning. Then they left for Inncheon, informing one of the ladies in charge that they would not come back. Season given: "Because we don't like the people we worked with!" The story went around the work-tables, and the question was often asked laughingly that afternoon: "Do you. like m« to work with?" One earnest worker would not joke!' about it. She answered indignantly: "Why should I trouble about liking you t I'm not thinking of you, but the boys.in the trenches! I'm working for them, r*ot : for you!" And that is how me must view the situation when annoying people such as] "Loyalist" throw sand in the wheels oSthe patriotic machine. The Mayoress and":' her splendid and tireless workers neeti not be discouraged littfe critioism,. when they remember the unanimous voteof confidence involved in -.the unopposed, election of the Mayor—and the Mayoress —last month, and the fact that thepublic has never been asked in vain fee financial support.—l am, etc.. CAKOLTJS.
