* WEEKLY MEETING. ■The weokly meeting of the Management Committee of tho Wollington Football Association was held last evening. Mr, A. E. Wills presided, and there were also present: Messrs. Williams, Auld, Hill, Webster, Yeoman, and O'Driecoll. Letters were received from various clubs agreeing to the raising of the ground fees for fifth-class games, a, measure that has been forced upon the association.
Mr. W. M. Matheson, of Apia, Samoa, wrote to tlio association, thanking them for Hie honour they had done him bickering kiin a vice-president of the association. He enclosed a money order towards the funds of the association, and wished them every success. llr. F. Bowles, who was tho referee in tho match between Marist and Hutt, at the- Hutt, on Saturday last, reported that he had had to order the captain of the Hutt team off the ground owing to his using abusive language. He reported that the game had afterwards been, played in a very sportsmanlike manner. I In connection with this matter tho secretary of the Lower Hutt Club wrote, protesting against Ihe referee who had looked after Uie match. He alleged that the referee was an old Marist coach. Hβ pointed out that Hutt wae a new club, and thought the referee might have acted more leniently towards the team. He finally asked that the committee agree to have the match replayed under a. different referee. It was decided that the protest was not in any way formal, and was accompanied by no fee, and a motion was passed dismissing it. Regarding the allegation of abusive language, the player in question is to be written to and asked for an explanation. A protest was received from the captain of Marist A team against the win gained by their opponents last Saturday, on tho ground that one of the players for their opponents was over age. . As it was proved that the player was over age, it was decided that tho match be replayed, and also that the boy in question bo suspended for one playing Saturday. The grounds question was discussed in committee. It is hoped (hat the school competitions will be started on Friday, June 1. A newly-formed club, the Stars, wrote asking that they be affiliated with the association. This was agreed to. The club entered one team in-, tiie Fifr'i B division.
