A company headed by Simon Lake, tho inventor, with a capital of ten million dollars contemplates buildinff 10,000ton submarines.—Aus.-N.Z. Gable Assn. [Simon Lake is a naval architect and mechanical engineer. Ho is the inventor of the even-keel type of submarine torpedo boats, and built his first experimental boat in 1894. He has deigned and built many submarine torpedo boats for the United States and foreign countries, and has spoilt several years in BussiSj Germany, and England,' designing, building , , and acting in an advisory capacity in the eonstvuclon of submarine torpedo boats. He invented tho submarine apparatus for locating , and recovering sunken vessels and their cargoes, while tho, submarine apparatus for pearl and sponj,'© fishinsr was created by him.
