RAIN AND WIND
Heavy shoivers, driven in slantinff sheets l>y a hard nor'-wester, featured Wellington weather yesterday. The air was mild, and there were occasional dry spells that smacked more of October thai of May. The weather conditions throughout the Dominion have been gloomy, the western and southern districts chiefly being tlio centres of the rainfall. Eecent indications, states the official forecast, are for a continuation of strong winds, from the west, with squally and unsettled weather. Tain being expected in most parts of the country. The barometer has a downward tendency.
