The Farmers' Union Conference passed , a resolution that any essential worker liable to he called up during the next twelve months should have the right to go before a Military Board and have his position made clear. . The conference had previously rejected a remit that before the Second Division was called up the First Division be increased bv the .inclusion of men up to fifty year", of age. ft also rejected a. remit that the whole of the I'irst and Second Division ballots be drawn at once, <o that farmers would know some moutu-: . ahead the exact date when they would have to go Into camp. Another remit rejected was that t'he position of farmers should be defined as to whether they would be required for service, or if they could remain on their farms.
