ALLEGED SLANDER
CHARGE OP STEALING A SHEEP,

Christchurch, May 21. In the Supreme Court, Robert M'Elhinnev, sheep farmer, Ashnurton, sued Alfred J. Keith, eheep dealer, Ashburton, for JESOI damages , for alleged slander. The claim was founded on an alleged statement by defendant'in an hotel at Waimate,. that plaintiff stole a sheep out of the public saleyards. The case is proceeding. •
