FIRE AT MOTUEKA

FRUIT WORKS DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, May 19. Parson and Co.'s fruit evaporating works (owned by Mr. G. Budden) and Thompson and Hill's fruit pulping works at Motueka were destroyed, by fire yesterday evening. The fire started in the evaporating works and spread to the adjoining factory. Mr. Budden's insurance is ,£6OO on the plant and building. 'The stock, valued at .£SOO, wa9 not insured. Thompson and Hill's plant and building were valued at about X2OOO. The insurances are not known locally.
