MEETING OF CREDITORS
A meeting of creditors in the estate of James Harold Mawby, pastrycook, of Wellington, called for yesterday morning lapsed for want of a quorum. In his sworn statement the bankrupt stated that he started in business eighteen months ago with a capital of .£ls, having paid .£BS for tho goodwill of the business taken over. He lost steadily from the start, but kept on hoping that tho business would increase, and the price of materials docreaso, neither of which things happened. Tho illness of his wife compelled him to keep a servant, and the medical charges ran away with money that otherwise would have gone to his oreditors. Twelve months ago his creditors began to apply pressure, and at length oecamo so persistent that ho was compelled to call them to a meeting, o was at present working as a baker for 'SA a week, oh which ho had to keep his wife (who was still ill-health, and renuired medical attendance).
