ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO END IT MR; LLOYD GEORGE TAKES' ACTION (R«e. May lfi, 8.10 p.m.) London, May 16. In the House of Commons, Mr. Bonar Law announced that Mr. Lloyd George Lad sent si communication to the Irish parties—which would reach them tomorrow —indicating that tho Government's proposals for the settlement- of the Trisli question would be discussed on Monday, if necessary. Mr. Joseph Devlin asked: "Why; does the Government not declare its. intentions to the House?" Mr. BonaryLiUV: is doing its host, to effect a settlement.. The communication'that has been sent to the loaders is nor. confidential."— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Asen. HINT OF THE PROPOSALS. (Rec. Slay 16, 9 p.m.) 1 London, May 16. . The "Times" states that the Government ' proposes the' immediate establishment of a- Parliament at-Dublin, and to cut out Ulster. A Statutory Council will transact the common business affecting both.—The "Times." FURTHER DETAILS. . (Roc. May 17, 0.45 a.m.) London, May 16. Tho Government has communicated to the Irish, leaders a threefold scheme for:— "An immediate establishment of an Irish Parliament in Dublin; "The clean-cut exclusion of .Southeast Ulster; "The formation of a Grand Council, equally composed of Dublin members, of Parliament and Ulster members of the House of Commons, to transact all common business between the excluded area* and the remainder of Ireland, with power to direct, if it thinks fit, that any enactment by the Dublin Parliament ehall apply 'to the excluded area."—The '-'Times."
