A BANKRUPT CHINESE
•MEETING OF HIS CREDITORS. A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Low Hoong, Chinese storekeeper, Grey town,' was held yesterday afternoon. Eight creditors were present, or represented, and Mr. T. J?.. Allen. Official Assignee, Masterton, presided. The statement of bankrupt showed. Liabilities, £689 'Is. 3d.; assets, £1080 lis. 2d. (including motor-car, £250, and promissory note, £260). The principal unsecured creditors were the Hawke's Bay Fruit, Co., £12 165.; Griffiths and Son (Nelson), £31 7s. Id.; M. O'Brien and Co. (Christchurcb), £103 10s. 2d.; Doughty and Co. (Wellington), £28 lis. ■Id.; P. Hayman and Co. (Wellington), £H ; Do Lafcour and Co! (Christchurcb), £8o 6s. 2d.; Duckworth and Co, (Ohristclmrch), £41 os. Id.; A. Clark and Co. (Auckland), £49 9s. Id.; Wright, Stephenson and Co., £43 195.; Poplo and Creamer (Onohunga), £40 Is.; •Mark Mnxlon (Groytown), £64 Lis.; Tnto and Thompson, £10 odd. Bankrupt's statement- added that he bought oiit tho Inisinoss of Ah Clioiig soino five*years ago, and ho did.good business for a time. Ho had partly ar r ranged to assign his ostato for tho benefit of his creditors, and would have been ahle to pay all liabilities in, say. two years. Finally O'Brien and Co., Oliristcuurr.li, filed a petition, and made liim a bankrupt. After a. discussion as to tho best method of disposing of the assots tho riieetiiig appointed a small committee to co-bperatb with tho Official Assigueo in the administration of the estate;
