RUSSIAN WAR MINISTER RESIGNS
Petrograd, May 14. M. Guchkoff has resigned the portfolios of War and Marine. In a letter to the Premier (Prince Lvoff) he explains his resignation as.due to conditions affecting the authority of the Government oyer the army and navy, which threatened to prove fatal to the defence and liberty, and even the existence, of the country. He refuses to share in the grave crime being committed against R.ussia. —Renter. (Rec. May 15, 5.5 p.m.) Petrograd, May 14. M. Guchkoff resigned as a protest against the dual control of the army and the interference of the Soldiers' and Workmen's Delegates, which he described as a grave sin against Russia, threatening fatal consequences to the liberty, and even existence, of Russia.—A-.is.-N.JS.
