The Hague correspondent of the Neiv York "Times , '" quotes Count Reventlow as saying in tho ".Tages Zeitune": "I learn that Herr von Bethmann-Holl-w<32 has stated that if he resigns Connt B'ernstorff will succeed, Mm. Count Bernstorff recently had a lengthy conference with the Kaiser. It is Herr von Bethmann-Hollweg's intention to threaten the Junkers and reactionaries with tlie possibility of getting a more democratic Chancellor.—Ans.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
DEATH STALKING THE KAISER

IRON CROSS DEPRECIATION
REWARDS FOR INKSTAND VAEOUR.
, Amsterdam, May 13. Several hundred, thousand Iron Crosses have been distributed owing to . the Kaiser empowering all army commanders to bestow them. The "Berliner Tageblatt" protests that more <* Iron Crosses are won behind the inkstand than at the front. Many have been bestowed on officials and order-
