AUSTRALIAN MEAT IN FRANCE
OPENING UP A FUTURE MARKET. London, May 11. Sir T. Robinson arranged on behalf of the War Office a new system to supply France with mutton, which is increasingly popular. The French Army is talcing it by the shipload. A trial consignment of rabbits was very satisfactory, as they suit the French mode of cooking. Australian bacon and further shipments of rabbits are going direct to France, opening up a market where they have hitherto been unknown.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
