A STRANDED WHALE

There was somo excitement on the sea beach this afternoon, eoDsequont upon a humpback whale being in difficulties near the shore in tho vicinity of the oil well. A workor at the well got a rope, waded into tho sea, and lassoed '.lie tail. With assistance tho whaio was brought ashore. .Jt wa.s found to bo fchirty-fivo feet long, girth nino feet, breadth' at tail twelve feet.
