SOUTHERN MARKETS / By Telegraph.-Press Association. 7 Christchuroh, May 8 wheat continues to come forward slowly, and is readily taken at Government prices. With regard to complaints as to the difficulty of obtaining seed wheat, a local miller states that he is prepared to supply any quantity, dressed or undressed. Practically no business is doing in oats, or oatslieaf chaff. ' Tho potato market has an easier tone. The Auckland market has several weeks' supply on hand, and local buyers are ottering from £4 ,to £4 9 S bcl. per ton at country stations, but growers are holding for £4 55.. the price lately ruling. ■ The late heavy rains have checked digging operations.
