STEPS TO ENSURE' SUFFICIENCY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, May 7. Iu reply to a letter from the Chamber of Commerce on tho subject of purchasing wheat in Australia, Sir Jaines Allen says the letter has been referred to tho Board of Trade, and steps are. being taken to secure a sufficiency of wheat or flour to mako up the shortage till next season's crops are available. The chamber is also advised that the Board of Trade is divided on the" question of tho advisability at present of tho Government acquiring control of New, Zealand wheat not already in the haiids of the millers.
