MILLIONAIRE ILL-TREATED BY A"
AVOMAN. Paris, May G. An extraordinary case concerning an American millionaire, named James Slater, aged fifty-six, is reported. Slater came to Franco a year ago with a young Dutch woman. They lived m a chateau, where she imprisoned him in a. summer-houso and subjected him to most cruel treatment. Sho recently married tho chauffeur, and the pair forced Slater to sign cheques for several million francs. They havo been arrested on a charge of swindling.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
