Passengers who have arrived here glato that Lord Northcliffe's country homo on the Isle of Thanet was damaged by shell fire from a German destroyer on February 26. Lord Northcliffe was at ' .n-e during the .attack. Tho wife and daughter of the gardener were killed, and a cottage destroyed—Renter.
LThe Isle of Tbanet forms the northeast comer of Kent, from the mainland of which it is cut off on the west by the River Stoiir.l
