RUSSIA'S FUTURE AT STAKE

GREAT MASS MEETING OF THE PEASANTS . Odessa, May 2. A great mass meeting of peasants is announced to assemble here at the end of May. It will probably be of immense importance to the future of Russia, as the peasants constitute threefourths of the Russian: nation, and furnish at least 80 per cent, of her troops. Russia's fate lies largely in their hands, but they are still unorganised and ■unconscious of their power. The land question is the most prominent topic of discussion. Agitators demand the confiscation of all land. The agitation threatens to divide the peasants among themselves in the struggle for possession.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assn.
