Ono was regarding ■tho conservation of case timber and the planting of it in suitable districts; >.iikl tho' other was proposing that the Government bo asked to plaoe an export duty on white pine, and plant in lareas adjacent to fruit-growing districts trees that would eventually be useful for fruit cases. It was stated .that the executive already had the question of the timber supply and conservation well in hand. The question of entering into negotiations with timber merchants in America and elsewhere for the supply of teasing timber for members of the association was referred to the executive. ; The conference decided to request the Agricultural _ Department to give leei iures in various centres on the necessity of spraying 'for codlin moth at least one© a month in summer; also, that every effort be made to fight /brown' rot; and arrangements be made '"with the.
