DECISION OF CABINET

-Cabinet approved ' yesterday of a scheme for the'classification o' th" Second Division of the ■ Expeditionary Force Reserve. It will be noted, that in the scheme there is no class for flien with only one child, and that the Reservists who have children are classified according to qge. Following was the outline of the classification approved by Cabinet:— Class A.—To comprise all men not less than 20, nor more than 46 years of ago who have no children. Class 1!. —To comprise all men not less than 20, nor more than 34 years of age who have not more than'two children irrespective of age. Class C.—To comprise all men not less than 35 nor more than 46 years of age, who have not more than two children, irrespective of age Class D.—To comprise all men not less than 20 nor more than 34 years of age who have not more than four children irrespective of age. . SECOND DIVISION LEAGUE

ITS SUGGESTED CLASSIFICATION,

The following letter has been sent by the Wellington ' Second Division League to the Minister' of Defence: "At a meeting of this league, held on Tuesday evening, the question of classification of the Second Division was discussed and-'the,principle of classification according to dependants was affirmed. It was also decided to request your consideration of the following suggested sub-divisions: —A: Married men without dependants other than wife. B: Married men with wife and one other dependant. C: Married men with wife and two other -dependants. D: Married meil with wife and three other dependants. E: Married men with wife and more than three other dependants.

"The league trusts that this suggested scheme will be acceptable, but iu the event of-any. other scheme being brought forward by the authorities we nould respectfully request that we be given an opportunity to make further representations on this_ matter if necessary before such is finally adopted."
