' ANNUAL MEETING. Tho annuaKmeotmg of the New Zealand Investment, Mortgage and Deposit Company -was held yesterday, Mr. W. G. Foster, chairman of directors, presiding. In moving tho adoption of the report and the balance-sheet (which havo been published), the chairman said that tho capital of tho company had been strengthened during the year by the issue of 1975 new shares at por. The directors were still prepared -to consider applications for shares. Investors' subscriptions showed a reduction of £577,75. Id. owine to payments ' ol amounts maturing 'dlirinß the year. On tho-assets side mortgages had increased by £11,630 ss. Id. Freehold property was less, a property at Petono havine been sold on satisfactory conditions.
Special deposits wilh tho company had. increased by £10,2 M. Tho grosn lol.ur)) from investments was £60M 13s. 2d., heing £862 12s. sd. better than tho previous yrar. Tho interest paid to depositors was £568 9s. Id. Tho report and balancc-slicofc wero adopted. Tho directors' recommendation of % further 3 por cent, dividend (making 6 per cont. for tho year) was adopted. Messrs. Gerald FiUgorald and A. 6. Biss wero ro-olcolcd directors, and Messrs. H. Kombcr and Son wero rcappointod auditors. Tho sum of £ICO was voltd to the directors.
