PIGEON RACING
The Wellington Homing Pigeon Society, completed its programme for 1916-17 by flying the Consolation Race from Marton, tho distance beinj 86 miles (air-line), 20 birds, representing six lofts, competing. Following are the placed birds:—l, Mr. 0. Gasotfs b.cc, No. 108, velocity 994 yds. pis rain.j 3, Mr. W. Bailey's blue c, No. 557, vslooity 990 yds. per minute; 3, Mr. Oka*. RiiMlng's smoky c, No. 188, relooitj SWyda. per mimite. The society intfneis to Lnaugurate n series of sliows during the winter months. A hearty welcome will be extended to all feather fanciers of Wellington and suburbs.
