The minors asked for an increase for what is known as carrying sots used in timbering tho inincs. A settlement was readied and tho workod resumed to-day. The disputo is to bo referred to a conforonce in Wollington. If an ircrcaso is granted l>y tho' coriforonco it will Ijo made rotrospcetive.
