OFFER FOR RUNANGA STATE COAL MINE
IMPORTANT MOVE BY N.Z. CAPITALISTS. Mr. R. Wilson, of Reef ton, managing director of the Keep-it-Dark Mine, Boatman's Consolidated, and other West Coast mining companies, accompanied by Mr. J. B. Laurenson, of Ohristdmrch, president of the Canterbury Industrial Association, arrived in Wellington, on Friday. Tie object of the visit, we understand, is to submit an offer to Cabinet on behalf of New Zealand capitalists,; for the State coal mine at Runanga. A conference has been arranged with Ministers, and from a conversation with the above gentlemen we learn that satisfactory financial arrangements have been made to engineer the proposition, and that slonld the Government agree to same, ample labour will be forthcoming to successfully, man the industry.
